Peru in two weeks: my full itinerary

The short version

Placeholder — a two-week route that balances cities, altitude and one proper trek without a 4am bus every morning.

Day by day

  • Days 1–2 — Lima: food, coast, adjust.
  • Days 3–5 — Huaraz: day hikes and acclimatising.
  • Days 6–8 — Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
  • Days 9–13 — Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu.
  • Days 14–16 — Puno and Lake Titicaca.

What I'd change

  • More time in Huaraz before any altitude.
  • Book Machu Picchu entry much earlier.
